I've sat for SAT several times, but I cannot get any higher than 8!!! Can anyone read my essay and give me advice, make suggestions or anything that can help me to get in 11-12 range :(.

Assignment:
Do people need to know the source of any information before they use it?

There is an abundance of knowledge we can use. However, people tend to believe whatever knowledge they gain. In my opinion, knowledge needs careful analysis before it is used, because knowledge can be misleading. The example of 12 Angry Men and my personal experience will prove this right.

12 Angry Men is a film written by Reginald Rose. It is about a black boy who is allegedly accused of stabbing his father to death. 12 Jurors at the court case were voting either 'guilty' or not. Based on the information provided by the eye witness, the 11 of them voted guilty. However, the Juror #8 claimed that there is a reasonable doubt to the source of information. According to the eye witness, she said she had seen the boy committing the crime and heard him say 'I'm going to kill you!'. The Juror #8 repudiated by referring to the eye sight of the witness and the train that was passing by. The witness would not have been able to hear the sound due to the train and she, who wore glasses, did not have them on at the scene. At the end of the trial, the boy is exonerated, for Juror #8 eventually convinced other Jurors. Had Juror #8 not taken closer look at the source of evidence, the boy would have been found guilty.

Another great example is my personal experience at my school in Fiji. I was working on the historical investigation on China during the Qing Dynasty when the Opium War occurred. I over-relied on limited sources to present my argument. However, after going through my paper, my teacher told me that I was too biased in my approach. My teacher checked my sources and found out that they were all published by Chinese writers. Hence, to be objective, I had to be more eclectic. Had I submitted my final draft without any correction, I would have gotten a low grade.

To wrap up, after exploring 12 Angry Men and my personal experience, it is clear that knowing the source of any information can, indeed, save us from future troubles.

I know this is really bad (obviously that's why I got 8 :( )
I really need help with the essay because this brings my writing score way down!!! I only got 1 incorrect for the entire writing section! :( Please someone give me critical advice so that I can be in top 11-12 range.

btw I barely remembered the movie and my personal experience is half made up :D.
