I am currently a high school junior and would like to major in business marketing. Is it recommended to do an undergraduate program in liberal arts, or does an undergraduate program in business look better? Also, what sorts of things are administrators looking for in a candidate for an undergraduate business program (such as extracurricular activities, etc)? Last, how/where can I apply for summer high school internships in this field?

I wouldn’t worry about an MBA at this point, really. It is better to put your energy into your high school activities and undergraduate college search. If you really want to look ahead, browse the MBA forum. MBA’s come from a variety of backgrounds and there isn’t one path. One of the most successful I know when to Princeton for engineering, went to work for a large firm in sales and was promoted to corporate and worked 5 years, they paid for his mba from a top 3 university in that field. Nice.

Undergraduate schools look for the same things as other majors, in general. Good achievement in all your classes. Doing well in math is a bonus.

Business internships for hs students may be hard to come by. You don’t likely have many skills. If you do have some skills you might think what you can do on your own. I know kids that do all kinds of things from growing orchids to selling apps. You might join or start a FBLA chapter and see what resources they have. Maybe others will have better suggestions.
