I’ll be starting my junior year of high school this fall and took a practice SAT a few days ago and got 1240. This isn’t really good enough for me and I really want to have at least 1400. I got 640 on the critical reading and writing, and 600 on the math. I know that practice makes perfect and that I should keep taking tests, but is there any other advice you have? Also, I know that you need to be able to deeply understand your mistakes, but for some reason I have trouble doing this.
Do practice test 1-8 on College Board’s official website. And go over all of your answers (even if they’re correct) after completing each one.
For practice test 1-4, go through them without un-timed. Then for 5-8, start timing them, so you can get used to pacing yourself.
Yeah, I think times my issue. I took another timed SAT, but only the math section and got almost all the non-calculator questions right. However, for the calculator portion, I got all except for the last few of the bubble and grid in right. I expected this since I really panicked at the end. It was weird since last time I did way worse on the non-calculator than calculator, and now it switched, and I got a lower score which sucks. I’ll take some without timing it and try to not panic lol.
