How do I "show interest"

I was looking through some past decision threads, and I'm absolutely flabbergasted by the number of qualified (and extremely qualified) students that were weight listed. A lot of them said "they didn't show interest" as their justification for being wait listed.

How do I "SHOW INTEREST?"
I feel like I'm pretty qualified, but the supplement essay just asked for what set my heart on fire (even though I could've talked about what Nova can do to keep this fire lit ... but I already submitted my app).
I could visit, but do they even track visits?

Yes, they track visits. Not sure how much it plays into the whole process.

If you have accomplished something since your application, send them an application update/supplement stating what you did and what the experience was like (how it impacted you).

Get an email address that uses your name and use it for all school correspondence. Join the school’s social media sites. Get on the mailing list and “Request Information”. Email the school with intelligent questions (e.g. finaid, academic departments of interest, clubs of interest). Take an official campus tour (where your name is recorded). Interview, if allowed. Be sure your writing supplements convey interest, without sounding false.

How many of these things you want to do will depend on your actual level of interest, time, as well as the selectivity of the school and where you rank among applicants.

Log into your Villanova application account and watch all of the videos. They probably track these types of actions as do most schools.

We were told by admission counselor they do not track visits and demonstrated interest is not part of the admission process. Too bad for my kid, as we have visited 2x and he was only kid who showed up to visit at his HS.

I heard the same thing that they don’t track interest but they do make you register when you show up for an info session so I am not positive they don’t track but their official reply when asked is that they don’t
