How do I take AMC tests if my school doesn't sponsor them?

My school has a 'Math League' test, but I don't think it sponsors AMC 10 and 12 tests. This is an issue for me. I really want to participate in the AMC for the opportunity to advance to the AIME competition. How would I go about taking the test at a different location? Or could I try to get the AMC tests sponsored at my school (I have class presidency influence)? Finally, when does the competition take place?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Try telling administrators to offer AMCs, and if they don’t, see if you can’t get it at another school.
AMCs are in Febuary, AIMEs are in March.

Certain colleges also offer the test; the list should be up sometime in the winter or fall (last year’s is on the AMC homepage somewhere)

^I’m also wondering about the USABO. Anyone know?
