How do law schools view community college transfers?

I just transferred to UCSD this quarter as an economics major and have been thinking about changing my major to philosophy as I don’t think I will do as strongly in economics. My final GPA at community college was really weak because of the economics courses I took. I had to retake two math courses, however aced them both the second time, got three W’s in the same math course (math isn’t my strongest subject), and got two C’s. After the retakes my grade rose to a 3.6-3.5 for a couple of semesters (my CC counts the second time you take a class and not the first time) however it dropped back down to a 3.3 my last semester because of that second C. I’m already having trouble in my Econ and math class here at UCSD and I fear for my GPA here.

What are my chances of getting into, best case scenario, a mid/top tier law school with what I have so far? I decided to go to community college to save money however I am now having regrets about it as I’m not sure how law schools would view me compared to students who went to a four year university for the whole four years. If I change my major to philosophy would the courses I took at my CC, which were Econ focused, not count as much? Would admissions place a greater weight on my UCSD GPA?

the only things that matter are GPA+LSAT – not major. But note, all grades count. It does not matter how your college counts repeated classes. If both grades are on your transcript, LSAC will count them both in its recalculation of your GPA.

W’s are generally excluded, unless its a WF (for failing when withdrew). If WF, LSAC counts it as a F, or zero grade points.

So, you really need to recalculate your GPA and see how you can do by the end of year 4. Take a gap year and apply after you graduate so you can raise your GPA and study more for the LSAT.

How would they view a Pass/No Pass? One of the retakes I decided to take the second time as a Pass/No Pass and passed the course (though I regret this as I did get an A in the class - I followed some ill-advice from a college counselor). Would they just completely discount that class?

pass is ignored.

Thanks
