How do pre-med courses count as undergraduate curriculum?

Not sure if your asking the right question but signing up for them would be one way.

CS is a really tough road if you want to be premed. I would talk to a pre-med advisor.

Talk to a Pre-Med advisor at your school. They can help with your course selection.

If there is an overlap on the Medical pre-req courses and your major courses, then they would count for both. It depends upon your major. Biology majors have a large overlap of classes while a History major will not. It may be harder to fit in both Medical school pre-req’s and major classes again dependent upon major.

how can i take premed courses in university of michigan?

What courses should i apply to as pre-med courses if i’m majoring in CS at university of michigan?

You have posted the same basic question three times. There is no reason to do that. It sounds to me like you need to speak to: 1) your academic advisor for CS and 2) the pre-health advising center. It may be tough to manage both a CS and a pre-med curriculum. You will need to schedule:

–general education classes required for graduation;
–classes required for your major and
–pre-med required classes.

You need to take the following classes:

  • in this sequence
Biology 1&2 (usually taken freshman year)
Inorganic chemistry 1&2, organic chemistry 1&2, biochemistry (spread over Fr, soph, and he years - try taking only ONE from bio OR chem 1 your first semester).
Physics 1&2 (can be taken Jr or Sr year)
  • at any point during your 4 years, but usually 2/semester fr+soph, and 1/sem Jr+Sr
Psychology, sociology, calculus 1, biostatistics, English composition, speech/communication, a diversity focused class, bioethics/Philosophy,
    neuroscience/neurobiology/cognitive science

This nicely dovetails most gen ed requirements.
Pre-med is an intention (the classes aren’t ‘medical’), that can be realized if you got the ground running and are in the top 10-20% in every class.

There is a lot of overlap your first year since most engineering classes are taken with lsa students and go over Calc, chemistry, physics. You might take one less or one more for pre med. I would also see how you do your first semester /year to decide one way or the other. Engineering GPA after the first semester /year is around 3.3 and stays that way till graduation. That won’t get you into medical school. Classes at Michigan are very tough even for the best students. Talk to an advisor as mentioned. See where you are at after the first semester /year and go from there…
