How do SC&I admissions work at Rutgers?

CC newbie and high school senior here.
So I live pretty close to RU–literally every senior at my HS is either attending or at least applying there. I definitely want to go into information technology to pave myself a path into a career at a game developing/programming company. From what I’ve found, RU’s IT programs are all at the School of Communication & Information, and yet, in the undergrad application form, SC&I doesn’t show up in the options for schools to attend. So after some research I found out it has its own application process for already-RU students who have taken the prereq courses. That’s fine, I’ll do that. But that leaves the question…what school(s) should I put down on my application? Does it make a difference? I want them putting me into a school that can start me off in the right direction, but the prereq course for the IT major doesn’t indicate a specific school where it’s offered. Bottom line: can I just put down any school on my app for now?

I’m pretty sure it’s in the college of arts & sciences. You apply for the school, not the major.

You have 3 schools to apply to also

Good Luck!
