how do these classes work?

interactive television classes?

online classes?

video conferencing classes?

correspondence classes?

which is easiest/hardest? gimme your thoughts everyone....

Interactive TV and Video Conferencing classes are the same - the presentation is in real time from some other location and is broadcast to your location. You and your classmates have the opportunity to interact with the instructor.

Online classes are presented asynchronously (i.e. not in real time, instead you view the content whenever you wish). You are given presentations, readings, assignments, projects which you complete and turn in online.

Correspondence classes were the precursors to online classes. Presentations, readings, assignments and projects are sent to you and you return them via postal- or e-mail.

There are few correspondence courses left - if they are called that, they are in actuality probably really online courses. The main distinction between the former and latter is that online courses give students the very important advantage of being able to interact with each other. Many students find these classes harder because the instructor is not there to give verbal or visual cues.

ITV/Video Conference classes are usually very similar to in-person classes, except that the presenter is on a screen instead of standing in the same room. This can be a bit unnerving for some, but it is pretty much the same as a ‘regular’ class.
