on my transcript, my gpa is shown to the fifth decimal place, so it's 4.19721, and since GPA's generally only go to the hundreth place, would it appear as a 4.20 or a 4.19 when rounded to the nearest hundredth? it would be mathematically correct to round it up to 4.20, but do colleges actually do that? or do they just take off the last three numbers and consider it a 4.19? i know .01 points isn't gonna make a difference, but i'm sorta obsessive-compulsive over all my academics stats and a 4.20 would just sound so much better

They most likely mathematically round it (in this case to 4.20). My official transcript shows my GPA as 4.125, but on my report card it is rounded to 4.13 and not 4.12.

Honestly, I don't think they spend a lot of time worrying about it. But, if there's any rounding happening, it's OK to say 4.2 if it makes you fell better....it wouldn't be lying.

HAHAHAHHHHAHHAH! That's what I call a overachiever!!! worrying about 0.01 gpa difference

They round it to 4.

That loud thump you heard was a bunch of CC'ers falling off their chairs!! funny, iin77....!
