This is probably a silly question, but I understand that sometimes people who live in West Campus apartments or other nearby apartments or apartments on UT shuttle routes don't have cars. How do people grocery shop without a car? Are there some apartments with grocery stores nearby (walking distance) and easy no-car access to UT? Thanks.

Bus. There are some apartments near grocery stores, obviously, but those are less convenient to campus…so I guess it’s a fair trade off. The prices are also always hiked up due to location. The one I can think of off the top of my head is Longhorn Landing, which is right next to an HEB, and it is obviously most likely the cheapest way to go.

Aside from that…yeah, take the bus. You’ll have to go more frequently since you can’t carry EVERYTHING back if it’s in bulk.

You make friends/neighbors with cars who take you shopping with them. Offer to buy them lunch/dinner or pay for some gas.

I give my roommate cash and a list and he buys for both of us.
