Hi , everyone ! I am a final student and I am going to finish my last semester at college .These days are really hard days for me . While trying to do my thesis as well as possible and preparing for the day I defend it , I am nervous about the time after graduation . It is really exciting with new life and changes from college's life to a graduate's life , on the other hand , it makes me feel a little bit afraid . Maybe , I am not really ready for the graduation . My parents want me to work in a company near my house but I prefer a kind of job which gives me a chance to go to many places and communicate with people . In other words , I enjoy a flexible work . I post this entry in purpose of having your shares . You ever felt nervous like me , how did you do ??Do I lack of confidence?

I was really scared about graduating college.

I was a natural college student. I socialized alot and was able to balance school and part time jobs. I was having way to much fun to move on and wasn’t really sure what my life would be like afterwards.

I didn’t have a fulltime job lined up and my family life was complicated (parents divorced moved to separate states). I was afraid I was going to be a career bartender.

Eventually I did land a decent job for a young person. It was out of my field of interest but it was a paycheck and exposed me to the working world, showed me how an office worked and developed some good skills.

After awhile I learned that some of these skills were marketable and I moved on to a career that I was more excited about and gave me more satisfaction.

One piece of advice, don’t be to picky about your first job. Unless you have lots of offers/options, which most don’t - take what’s offered. Don’t tell yourself that you will have that job forever, it’s just a stepping stone to something better. Take advantage of any opportunities to better yourself and start designing a career path.

For me, graduating college was much like riding a big roller coaster. The scariest part was the slow anticipated climb up the first big hill, but once you got over it everything got easier.

Don’t get me wrong, life after college isn’t easy. There is a reason people say college is the best 4 years of your life. The real world is more stressful and complicated. Finances become a major, if not top priority. You have to deal with insurance, mortgages, pensions, 401K’s, loans, credit…then marriage, kids, ect.

The best thing you can do is start building a solid base and making your life as balanced as possible. That way you will be in a good position to take on lifes new challenges.

Use life, don’t let life use you.

Thanks very much for your share !
