How Do YOU Get Caught Up?

If you are behind on a class, what steps do you take to get caught up?

What if you are WAY behind on reading, do you read in depth and take notes or just skim everything?

I clearly ask this because I am way behind in one class.

It is also helpful to for others in the same situation to know how to get caught up when you feel like you can't.

So pretty much, just give your tips here.

I would skim the book and read someone else’s notes at the same time. It helps.

Procrastinate a little more

Just sit down and cry and/or pout

Consider taking notes and outlining

Realize that there is no time for taking notes and outlining

Get a pen or highlighter and start actively reading from the beginning - highlighting, underlining, notes in book, etc.

Realize that it’s going too slow

Start skimming the middle with only reading a few leading and ending paragraph sentences

Read the end or conclusion thoroughly

Look over whatever nonsense I happened to highlight or underline

Go back to read the middle if there’s time

That’s essentially what I do :p. Of course, I’m sure you could find a more efficient way…

One thing I’ve found out is to NEVER, EVER pull an allnighter EVER again. Not worth it whatsoever.

In fact, 2/3 of that night was counterproductive. By 5 AM, I was just gone… Throughout that day, I was basically a zombie.

I do a lot of skimming. I read the book, highlight important things, write down said important things, read them out loud, and then read them silently. That way my brain gets the same important information in a variety of ways.

It’s all that works for me - I’m not a big studier.

Randomly google and try to find the main points/key ideas.

I do this for all readings. I’ve been in college for 15 months now and haven’t read more than 300 pages in total, the majority of that being sparknotes/wiki articles on my actual assignments.

Oh and I have a 3.85 thanks to calculus, the one class you don’t have to read for.

Ok, Ok, I have to be honest. I have used a service that everyone told me not to but it has worked for me. It has freed up my time and get passing grades. [Unload Your Homework Here](http://www.lastminutehomework.com) It helped me get caught up because I am the worst writer. Hey but maybe I will post a thread about it to see what people think.

I don’t get behind.

are you kidding me?

^^ Oh geezus

Wikipedia derp

Gotta read the material so you know it, which sometimes means simply reading (no note-taking or sample problems while reading). Then getting caught up on sample problems and grading yourself. Set aside time. Four hours a day, break it into one-hour chunks.

I wikipedia everything on the study guide, or in the event that there isn’t one, everything on the syllabus. Works reasonably well.

How did I get caught up? I studied longer, re-worked more examples from the book, and asked the professor should an impasse arise.

The final grade was a B.

I don’t. I drop the class before it kills me.

Keep an eye on rymd - he’s going to go far.
