I saw a pie chart one time that said “Good grades, enough sleep, and social life…pick two.”
Sooo relevant

LOLLLL!
I actually am trying to think which two I should pick… XD

haha I know I’ve seen that pie chart before! hmm good grades and enough sleep must stay. social life, well, I’ll just chuck that out the window.

Lol. All these studying and courses already minimized my social life to zero… XD

^That described my social life last (sophomore) year!

ZERO.
ZILCH.
NADA.

…Although, I probably could have budgeted my time better :p

it’s all about how you put a positive spin on things. you can make a somewhat ordinary activity seem extraordinary if you highlight your successes, awards, leadership etc. Most of these people aren’t crazy robots but just intelligent individuals who are good at time management and commitment.

Lol. The beginning of my freshman was basically high I’m social life…
Then I looked at my SAT score. (which was a 1500s) I FLIPPED.
so yay me. Now I’m in the 1800s range and I CANT MOVE UP WHAAA THEEEEE CRAPPP…

An yes I agree about the time management :D

^ACT time? Haha nah. It seems as if you’ve dedicated yourself to the SAT already, so just keep on practicing!

I’d say I resemble that person who you talk about. During the school year (and during summer honestly) I average about 4-7 hours a night. AP classes aren’t too bad (depending on the teacher) and their difficulty is overrated. High test scores, many times, take a fair amount of prep work. Being actively involved socially is WAY overrated in American high schools. You should have friends, but don’t let them distract you from work. Volunteering isn’t too tough. If you volunteer on a weekly basis for a couple years, hours add up without taking up too much time. I think people like to exaggerate about the chance threads except in most cases, academics aren’t the problem for many students and they know that. As long as you work as hard as you can, you shouldn’t care about the results.

Lol yeah, I will admit that I’m HORRIBLE at time management. One of my “School year resolutions” this year is to make sure I knock out all of my homework/assignments as soon as I get home from school

^Me too! Hopefully I’ll stick to it…

lol my social life is my EC’s I live in my high school it feels like.
I go to school it’s dark out and I don’t leave until it’s dark again for at least 3/4 of the year. I miss the sun sometimes ):

Lol I wish I was you.
And AP CLASSES EASY?

I took one of those sparknotes test for sat bio and I got a 600… D:

Definitely plan to tutor people next year. And self study a AP class and hopefully taking two science class that are AP…

Definitely high school is looking fun.

drinking tea helps a lot. earl grey is nice for late nights.

Lol I jam with my computer (blaring music). Works fine xD

Lots of Indian tea and motivation. (Mainly wanting to impress my teachers and be their favorite… lots of perks in that department).

… Just keep swimming… … Just keep swimming… … Just keep swimming…

I LOVE FINDING NEMO.
It keeps me up… xD

Just do it >insert Nike sign here<

Mother of God. I was looking at some chance me posts for UCB and UCLA (the colleges I would like to get into) and the scores were crazy. 2300+ and amazing ECs and perfect grades. Not to mentions sports, head of organizations, a lot of hours, and scholarships/award. Where do they get the damn time?! As much as I look up to them, they make me feel pathetic and worthless. :(

Procrastination is key. That’s at least how us IB kids do it! It’s sort of like prioritization, but more BA. And way more intense than the way people who are in IB do it.

Procrastinate on extended essay to do homework. Procrastinate on homework to study. Procrastinate on studying to do community service. Procrastinate on sleep and meals in order to have a social life.
