I've looked at a lot of schools, and Penn is my number one choice. I like it more than any other school, and I really do love it and I applied ED. But sometimes I wonder if this could've been a mistake. How do I KNOW that this is the right school for me? What about Penn makes you know it is your absolute number one school, no doubt?

It's your #1, but you wonder if it could have been a mistake?

everyone has different reasons for choosing the colleges that they do. Penn was an easy choice for me; I knew i wanted to go into business, and i am fairly certain that i want to become a lawyer. When i went to visit i learned tat Wharton students could sub matriculate into the law school during thier senior year. After i learned that i started doing mreo research on penn and loved everything about it. I love philadelphia, it's my favorite city hands down, and wharton is the best business school around. I also wanted to stay pretty close to home because i need somebody to do my laundry... lol Penn was an easy choice for me because it had exactly what i wanted in a school, and it was exactly where i wanted to go to school.

I did a summer program and actually stayed at Penn for 6 weeks and took classes with Penn students. That's how I know Penn is my top choice.

Wharton
that's pretty much it
plus I need to get out of OK

I completely understand what how you're feeling right now. I went through the same thing: I was absolutely certain that Penn was my #1 choice coming out of my college visits/research this summer, and I planned on applying ED. Then in October, I had a worried phase, because I just wasn't sure that I would rather go to Penn than all of my other colleges. So I didn't apply ED, after all, and applied EA somewhere else.

To cut the long story short, I would tell you to be confident in your initial impressions. I should have been. I took a second visit to Penn and felt the same way, and got really depressed about the choice I made not to apply ED. And now, while all of you are waiting with anticipation about getting in to Penn, I'm cursing myself for not applying ED. Instead, I'll hear back from a college I'm only slightly interested in, and I have to wait months for Penn. I'm sure I hurt my chances of getting in, too.

Ha, sorry, that I was kind of a rant, but I really do intend it to be helpful in that you probably could have regrets in either situation, but if you liked Penn enough in the first place to apply ED, it was probably the right decision.

If you like it more than any other school, then that's about as sure as you can be. I went through the same thing after applying ED- it can be scary to realize you may be bound to attend a certain school. But you shouldn't worry. Almost everyone I know here LOVES it. I think we have a much higher level of satisfaction than many schools.

i think applying ED can also be used to try and increase your chances of getting a stop at a top choice. I was stuck between Penn and Princeton, i loved both equally, but after princeton removed their ED policy i decided to Penn because i wanted the greatest chance possible of being accepted, and i don't regret it at all. The closer decision day coesm the more i want to go to penn.

k thanks for the help, it sounds like im just getting nervous over nothing. ive heard too that people love penn...and wharton is sick (even though i didn't apply)
