How do you know you have what it takes to go into a career in medicine? I have an interest but how do I know I'm capable? It's a silly question but it's a difficult career --- is it possible to know you'll be no good at it?

Well, there’s no real way you can know unless you’re doing it, but there are ways I guess you can try and figure out if it’s the right path for you.

First off, the person who knows yourself best is you. Do you think you’re capable of being a doctor? Do you think you can do whatever you plan to in the career of medicine?

Other than that, just try to get experience and see if it’s something that fits with you. Volunteer in a hospital. Shadow a doctor. Volunteer at a health fair. You’ll get a more accurate idea of what a career in medicine would be like. Then, you can see if it is something you can do.

Hope that helps.
