Well first off, what made you want to come to this school? And secondly, how much are you enjoying it? Elaborate about that in terms of athletics, campus, clubs, curriculum, academics, food, social life, city life, things to do, student body, professors, financial help etc.
From your overall experience at this university, rate how much you like it on a scale from 1-10.

UCLA is great. I love the campus and the city that surrounds it.. Westwood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, etc. We're probably located in the most afluent part of Los Angeles and it's wonderful. I choose UCLA because I'm from NorCal and wanted to get away from home. Berkeley wasn't somewhere I wanted to go either. Of course, at the moment I'm homesick so I'm not enjoying UCLA as much.

Anyway, our athletics are actually doing pretty good. Football we're 8-1 after an embarassing loss last week. Basketball season started and we were always good at that. The campus.. is a lot of hills and stairs. It tones your legs so much you wouldn't even believe it. But if you don't like stairs or hills.. reconsider coming here. The clubs are okay I supposed. Our campus has a strong Christian community. The curriculum depends on your major. The academics are cuttthroat like any other top institution. The food is great but so bad for you. We're ranked #1 in food.. but probably also #1 in most weight gain haha. The socialness is cool, but it all depends on you. If you make the effort to meet people, you will. The city life is wonderful like I stated prior, there are always things to do as a walking distance. If you have a car, that's better. The student body is huge like I'm sure you already heard already. The professors are great depending on who it is. It's like any other top school. I think we're pretty generous in financial help. I got more offered by LA than Berkeley haha.

And lastly.. I would rate my university experience a.. 8.5. I have yet to see a celebrity and i'm homesick. haha.

i pretty much agree with smiles77...except i'm from chicago and not homesick. too much fun here! also, i saw diane lane...and hopefully the celeb sightings will keep coming.

UCLA is the definition of the bomb diggity. profs are great if you choose to go to class, there will be problems but that's true of any school. people here are extremely friendly, esp in the first week- it's much easier to meet people in high school cause you're with people on your dorm floor 24/7.

All the UC schools do an annual survey of undergrads.
[quote]
UCUES 2004 was the third in a series of spring surveys of the eight University of California undergraduate campuses. As part of a larger collaborative project entitled The Student Experience in the Research University21st Century (SERU21), UCUES offers a rare in-depth examination of the undergraduate experience at the University of California. As such, it offers UCLA administrators, faculty, and students an opportunity both to closely examine campus life at UCLA and to compare it to the UC system as a whole. Results can be viewed through many lenses, such as by major, by college or school, by class standing, by entry status (direct/transfer), and by student characteristics (gender, race/ethnicity, first language). The survey addresses student academic and co-curricular engagement and activities, as well as utilization and assessment of student services and the overall UC experience.

it seems LA is the place to be. other than new york, this is the place of opportunity. I only live 40 minutes away, and it's too bad i've never taken advantage of what this place has to offer.
