How do you manage your time, dear academics??

As evident that most of you are academics. My question is what is your manage the work loads of your curriculum and extra? what might be your time management skill?

I find that I work better under pressure, not very healthy though..

Well my daughter studies all the time and does not go on CC, and I have this new addiction so I will answer. My daughter is a perfectionist in her academics and EC’s ( we are working on this). She basically comes home from school after her activity and works. She takes a 15 minute dinner break and then works until about 10:30. Then she showers and goes to sleep by 11. If she has a lot of tests then she stays in on the weekends, and is perfectly happy with this decision. If she does not have any tests she will go out with her friends but then comes home at 10 to work. On Saturday and Sunday she gets up at 8 and works all day- about 10 + hours each day. Sometimes she has an EC planned on the weekend and takes a break. I don’t recommend her schedule as I think it’s crazy, and we are working on finding a balance. The truth is that if she reduced her studying in half she would still do well, but I have come to terms with it as this is her personality. She is very very driven. Then I have an older one who is the opposite and is very happy. Go figure!

Move the pressure to an earlier time!
A former valedictorian’s advice changed my time management by saying that he was able to get all of his homework done at school and would always finish faster than teachers could assign him. (Mind he had at least 19 AP classes and more being self-studied)
I cannot do the same, but I still am under the mindset of getting everything assigned possible, then I have tons of free time for friends and extracurriculars without homework in the way.

-Uh… Well like don’t spend one night studying, just spend it out over the week. You’ll perform better on tests this way. 20 minutes a night for 5 days is better than 2 hours the night before test day.
-Try to do most of your HW in school. Really it work. You won’t believe how many time i went home only to feel the satisfaction that I have no homework.
-On Finals week, you will most likely not have hw. I would take most of your weekend studying before these days.
-And yes you can do all of this and balance social life and sleep, dfree…

I don’t really manage my time. I swim and cycle competitively all year round, so I just do work when I have time. And procrastinate on sundays. It probably helps that I never study that much at all. Grades are based mostly on exams, so I just make sure I have decent notes to revise from and put off all the work until it’s necessary!

Thanks for your perspectives everyone :)
