So how do I pay for the Sept. 2nd fee on bronco direct when the disbursement date of all the financial aid and loans are on Sept. 11 and after?

On my “account summary” the financial aid are shown as “pending” next to the “charges due” so … that mean they haven’t given me the award yet/ send the money to my acct.

Been trying to reach the office for 2 days now, no luck.
Please post here if you have the same issue/question :(

I have the same question too because the email sent says that the financial aid should say “anticipated” and ours says “pending”. I also noticed that the Cal Grant amount increased probably due to the fee increases but under financial aid, they replaced it with the “State University Grant” but it’s at the lesser amount. I plan to call the Financial Aid office tomorrow but last time I tried, I was on hold for more than 45 minutes and had to give up.

From the email:

If you are receiving financial aid to pay for your fees, verify that your financial aid will be applied to your fees by logging on to https://broncodirect.cms.csupomona.edu and clicking on Account Summary. The courses for which you are currently registered will not be cancelled if either of the following apply to you:
You have been awarded financial aid and your financial aid on your account summary is shown as Anticipated.

I called financial aid this morning and they looked up the account. We get enough FA to cover the Sept 2 payment and they will pay out of that (State University Grant + Pell). She said it was OK that it says pending and not “anticipated” and that they would put a “positive notation” on the account, whatever that means.

I you were eligible for a Cal Grant, check on that Cal Grant web page to see if the amount increased (www.webgrants4students.org). Ours did, I believe, to match the increase in tuition this year. In Bronco Direct it only shows the “State University Grant” which replaces the Cal Grant. I told her SUG was for a smaller amount than what our Cal grant increased to and she said it would be adjusted in a week or 2. SUG = $4884. Increased Cal Grant Amount = $5472.

He is eligible for the Cal Grant A only but you don’t choose which one you want. The Cal Grant A disappeared from his financial aid and was replaced by the state university grant. When I called earlier in the summer, they said that you get 1 or the other but not both. Did you guys apply for the general scholarships back in February? None of that has shown up and they also told me a few months ago that those won’t be awarded til October?? We are keeping our fingers crossed.

So… you’re son is accepting the csu grant. Hm… I’m currently accepting that too but I don’t know if I should switch to Cal Grant B, don’t know which is better =/

Unfortunately, by the time I found out about the scholarship, it was too late to apply. Same thing for the Kellogg college, they got scholarship and a special floor for their students >.< too late …

Just wait until October like they said, the loans are available then too, so don’t worry.

Mine says “pending” too and now I’m wondering what amount I’m gonna pay. I still have to pay a little bit since Cal grant doesn’t cover everything but my “due now fee” states the full amount, I don’t know what to pay…the remaining balance when Cal grant is applied or the full amount? Well, it won’t let me pay the remaining balance (online) either so I don’t know what to do especially that its so hard to reach the FA office through phone.

oh really?
I was on my account inquiry and I saw the remaining balance and I clicked on “Make a Payment”
A “CASHnet” should pop out and you could enter the amount you want from there.
Was that was you did?

well yea I did see that I can enter the ‘remainder’ amount to pay but since it still shows that I have my current due is the bigger amount I don’t know…well did yours show the same thing ? I might as well do that if yours turned out fine.

yea i have the “bigger” amount due as of now but my financial aid is pending to pay that off. so i didn’t bother with it. i just put in the amount that is remain now in the CASHnet place.

You should have just waited for your remaining due to change. I have Cal Grant and a CPP Grant and they are both pending right now. On 9/12 is when they disburse your financial aid into your account, then it will show the remaining you have to pay. Also, if you go to your account inquiry, then it will tell you how much per quarter you have to pay after adding your financial aid. Its in the “Student Center” next to where it says remaining due.
