How do your Cadets sleep on the holidays?

As you know most college students home for the holidays typically keep 'vampire ' hours.... do any cadets back from west point do this or do they maintain their academy routine? just curious

Mine is up by about 8 or 9am. The first few days she was up at 5am. She hits the sack about midnight.

Asleep somewhere in the house - his bed, the couch with the tv on, in his room in a reclining chair with a game controller in his hand, etc. - by 4 a.m. and up by 2 p.m. or so. Yes, I'd say we have a Cadet Dracula in the house.

I have 2 certified vampires and 1 trainee in the house this week. Could I be just a tad envious?

Let's see... I've gone to bed almost every night by 1 or 2, slept until about 8 or 9, and then napped for 4 hours or so in the afternoon almost every day. I'm EXHAUSTED.

shogun, With the time change, is she sleeping until just about noon? :)

You deserve it, m4m! Enjoy all the rest you can get.

Up until this morning, I was going to add our son to the nocturnal "slug" category. This morning he was up before 7am, went for a run, and was doing pushups and situps when I got back from breakfast. Said he felt like he was getting "soft".

He's sharing the West Point cigar tradition with his high school buddies. Last night, they were out on our porch puffing away, drinking root beer and eating Krispy Kreme donuts. What a combination!

Hope everyone was a great Christmas tomorrow.

lol, that is an interesting combination, Aspen!

Wow, I definitely haven't been PTing. Saving that until I get back. I'm heading to Nebraska tomorrow to see my boyfriend (he's in the Army). It'll definitely be an experience. He lives on a ranch, so I'll be riding horses, milking cows, AND shooting off 1000 rounds of ammo! He builds and customizes weapons (including M4s, M16s, and sniper rifles), so I'll get to work with those, so that'll be fun.

Momof twins

The last few days she has been getting up by 7am and running. Doing a lot of weights and such as well. She says she is preparing for the next APFT which she says is coming up soon after they return.

shogun,
did you attend the all academies ball last night in Los Angeles with your wife and daughter? My mid thinks she saw your cadet!

Yup, we were there! Our daughter was the one cutting the Army cake with the old grad after dinner. Man, wish I would have asked who on here was going as we could have at least found each other and said hello! We had a lot of fun at the Ball! Happy New year!!

Here is a page that has mostly pics from the Ball we took.

shogun,
Loved the photos! Beautiful children and parents--my favorite is of you dancing with your lovely cadet!
My mid (and the other usna female mids) didn't wear formal mess dress, but her male friend did. My daughter was the tall blonde with black strapless top, exquisite long red satin skirt with jet black beading across the front of the skirt. She loves her school, but also loves dressing up!
It was funny because people asked her "Young lady, where do you go to college?" She proudly told them "United States Naval Academy!" Also, the day before the ball she and her friends were at Disneyland (along with a million other guests--the day the Christmas tree in the hotel caught on fire). My mid was proudly wearing her USNA sweatshirt and a couple of 2001 USNA grads asked her, "Who do you know at the Naval Academy?" Again, she announced, "I go there!"
The following day, USC and Texas football teams went to Disneyland. I saw them interviewed on the news and some of the football players looked old enough to be retiring from the NFL!!!
My daughter had a fabulous time at the All Academies Ball; hope you and your family did too! Thanks for sharing the photos, they're wonderful.
Happy New Year!

Fabulous pictures, shogun!

momoftwins: Thanks!

USNA09MOM:Wow, I wish I could have met your family and daughter, she sounds like she was a beautiful sight to behold! Saw the xmas tree catch fire on tv, and thought about going to Disneyland to see the USC and Texas players "mingle" with Micky but just couldn't work it in. Those players definitely don't look like kids!

Happy New Year to All!!

Shogun -

What a beautiful family! Thanks for sharing those pictures.

Shogun...thanks for sharing the PICS...lovely family.

Thanks Prayerfulmom. The house seems very empty now without her. She left yesterday morning, flew into Newark and then took the WP bus to the academy. She spent last night at a local hotel as the barracks don't open up until today. Travelling from California she needed the extra time to travel or she would have been late reporting today. Glad she did, I see a lot of plebe-net parents posting paniced messages about their cadets being on late flights today. Everyone have a great year!
