How does a bad SAT writing score look in admissions?

<p>I wonder why schools would have CB change the SAT (in 2005) if they weren’t planning on actually using the test? </p>

<p>Also, before the 2005 SAT change, some schools had required applicants to take the SAT II Writing test. Back then, that was a separate test.</p>

<p>Overall colleges hold more weight to your CR and M score but more selective colleges will but a little bit of emphasis on the W then public schools.</p>

<p>Are you sure 92% of schools operate on the 1600 scale? I know for a fact that Rutgers and McGill take the writing score into account but CUNYs don’t and VA Tech either. And UCs, of course, since UCs are the ones who brought the writing section to bear in the first place.</p>
