How does Annenberg rank among other j-schools?

I'm in the decision process of figuring out which college I should go to. I know I want to study journalism, and am very interested in getting a jump start on internship/job opportunities as soon as possible.
How does Annenberg compare to other schools, like University of Missouri or NYU? I know NYU has close proximity to all the best internships, so how does USC make up for that?
If I were to major in print journalism at Annenberg, is it easy to gain experience in other aspects of journalism like public relations or broadcast?
Thanks in advance!

Annenberg would definitely be in the top five. I just got accepted for print journalism, and have attended events there like High School Journalism Day. The facilities/professors are amazing. The students there also get great internships.

I definitely recommend it!

Small Fry,
Were you admitted to NYU and Missouri? I think Missouri is known for the journalism program.
If you are considering SC, there are many top names who are in great positions in TV and print journalism. Joe Jares, alumnus, has been an editor and contributor to SI, Lisa Leslie, alumna, was an Olympian from SC and has been a correspondent on NBA Inside Stuff. Graduates have won the Pulitzer Prize and other prestigious awards.

Los Angeles is a huge media center. Internships are available. SC’s contacts in the media are strong.

Georgia Girl-
I was accepted to NYU, Missouri, and USC, and am trying to decide which school to attend. It’s a tough call because they all seem really great!
What type of internships are available at USC? It seems like the only newspaper in the area is the LA Times; do many kids intern there?

in terms of connections for jobs after college mizzou or annenburg are your best bet. Everyone talks about the “mizzou mafia” but it’s extremely competative but of course it’s one of the best in the nation. NYU though it’s a great city and whatnot, it’s not really known for it’s journalism where as the other 2 are. It also depends on what type of journalism you want to go into. Broadcast- go to mizzou Print-DEFINATELY go to USC…unless you get full ride to NYU, it wouldn’t be the best choice for someone serious about journalism. hope that helps =]
