How does Brandeis treat outside scholarships?

I just found out today that I received a $2000 scholarship from a local business. I was wondering how exactly does Brandeis treat these outside scholarships? Does Brandeis subtract it out of federal grants, my own contribution, or lower the loan?

-Another question totally off topic: I was wondering what are some backup plans for those premed students who do not get accepted to a medical school? For example, could that person just go to a pharmacy school if the person desires, or is there a whole different process for applying to pharmacy schools.

nobody can help?

I can't say for sure, but hopefully they'll take it out of the loan instead of the grant. It'll definitely help at least a little.

Every type of health school has its own application process. There's a common-app-like thing for med schools, one for osteopathic, one for dental, etc. Plus you'll generally need to fill out each school's individualized secondary, at least in med schools. No real shortcuts.

generally, most schools do take it out of the loans first... i don't know what brandeis does, but i know that that is the policy for the school i'm transferring to!
