How does Middlebury stand out from Williams, Swarthmore, Tufts.....

@doschicos, No I moved to Central NY to afford a house. So much of Boston is now condos and new buildings.

Haverford has a Chabad one step off campus. The rabbi is absolutely amazing and everyone loves him. He draws a remarkable number of students to weekly Shabbats for such a small school. Although the Chabad technically serves Swarthmore also (Swarthmore students come sometimes) it is mostly Haverford students who go with some from Bryn Mawr too because of location.

Another Midd grad here, from way back in the day [I have a D17 now, not heading to Midd unfortunately as not her thing and she wouldn’t have gotten in anyway]. I loved my experience there and if your son likes the LACs mentioned I would say to definitely check it out. Campus is gorgeous, great facilities and food, tons of outdoor opportunities, close enough to Burlington for weekend visits [my friends and I went all the time] and even Montreal a reasonable day trip. As PP have said, environmental science is definitely strong, and not a new program either. If he likes that stuff, he should check out what they have been doing to become carbon neutral, which I believe they are—they really put their money where their mouth is. 4-1-4 calendar is great, too, giving kids a chance to really delve into one subject or to go off-campus for an internship if they would rather. No idea what your S will prefer but I think definitely worth a visit to see what he thinks. Keep us posted.

@blossom Just curious which schools you’re referring to when you say, But if your son wants an engaged and active Jewish community, he will have to work hard at it at some of the colleges on this list.
Thanks!

Thanks monydad. I wonder if these lists supplied by hillel only factor in those schoo!s who have at least one Jewish organization on campus under the hillel umbrella.
Thank you for the links.
