How does my sophomore year schedule look? I am aiming for UF and possibly ivy leagues
-AICE General Paper
-Pre-Calculus Honors
-Pre-AICE Chemistry
-Dual Enrollment Anatomy & Physiology
-AICE International History
-AICE Global Perspectives
-AP Psychology
-Spanish 3 Honors
While rigor or your courses is incredibly important, make sure you’re taking classes that you’re interested in. So, if you’re taking the most difficult course load and you’re interested in the courses, you’ll look good in the eyes of college admissions officers.
Personally, I think that your course load looks solid, but I’m not sure what classes your school offers, so I can’t say anything for certain.
Looks like you’re going for the AICE diploma, which will help with UF/FSU.
Your schedule looks good, well-balanced, except that it’s a LOT of classes. I’d drop AP Psychology since you’re already taking two history/social sciences (International history, Global perspectives). Beside this, you have all your core classes and there’s a clear path to progression, such as
General Paper → A level English or AP English Language
PreCalc Honors → Calc
Spanish 3-> Spanish 4
Pre-AICE Chem → AICE Chem (note: you need to take Physics too, at some point)
AICE International History → A Level European or American history
As long as you maintain good grades, have enough sleep (8-9 hours a night), and devote time to activities of interest, that’s good
@MYOS1634 Thank you! I am taking your advice and dropping AP Psychology, don’t want to spread myself thin. As to your note on physics, I’ll be taking that in junior and senior year through Dual Enrollment as my school doesn’t offer any higher level physics courses. Have a great day!
