How does obtaining Graduation cords/regalia work?

So im going to graduate this upcoming fall semester. I am part of a couple honor societies but I forgot my login info for at least 2 of them. Im sending a confirmation email to them but was wondering if I could just go ahead and buy the regalia anyway? Or do I need to have an account on their site?

Also, does my university sell the honor society graduation regalia on campus? Or is the only way to obtain them by buying online?

As for actually wearing the cords etc. Would I be able to just put them on and walk across stage? (I forgot the routine in my HS graduation, it was a long time ago) I know some universities have regulations on cords but I was just wondering how it works. I would ideally want to buy a cord for each society im in but I also wanted to buy a stole for this one that Im fairly active in. Would I be able to wear more than one stole?

Sorry for all the naive questions, I know graduation for me isnt for a while now and idk how the process works in college so I hope you all can help!

My son checked off a box for honors cords when he filled out the cap and gown form. I believe he got a special stole from an honor society. When the time comes it is pretty clear. In the meantime, just ask one of your graduating classmates and it will set any fear you have of missing out aside.

My DD was in a Math Honor Society and she got those cords through them. She had cum laude honors cords but that came from the school.

call the office coordinating commencement on your campus and they will help you do what you need to do.
