Been watching a lot of Entourage? Haha that's why I was so interested in the industry. My friend's dad is a talent agent for a very big firm in Beverly Hills (maybe that's giving it away). He got his degree from UCLA in Comm Studies and he then applied to the firm, getting into the mailroom. After a couple of years he became an assistant and then a couple of years after that he became an agent. From what I'm told its a stressful but high profile job; I asked my friend's dad and he said that he definitely would have gotten an MBA or JD-he would have rose up faster. So if I were you, I'd get the J.D. first; and besides, even if the talent thing doesn't work out, the J.D. will land you a job somewhere.

Start in the mailroom for basically no pay and insane hours and work your way up. Or, know somebody. Though you often have to know somebody just to get in the mailroom. And there are very few like Ari Gold who are that successful.
