Can someone please explain the process of superscoring for standardized tests?

It basically means send all of your standardized test scores so that colleges can take the individual best math, writing, and CR scores from the multiple tests you took. Say you took the SAT once and these were your scores:

Test 1:
CR 570
M 680
W 680

That is a total of 1930, but say you wanted to retake and get a higher CR scores. These are test two results:

Test 2:
CR 650
M 660
W 630

You improved your CR score significantly, but your other two scores dropped giving you a score of 1940, an increase by 10 points. By sending both test results, colleges will use this as your score:

CR 650 (from second sitting)
M 680 (from first sitting)
W 680 (from first sitting)

Now your superscore is 2010, higher than both of your sittings separately! So send all scores to show improvement and to take advantage of colleges that superscore (the majority do)
