How does taking community college classes during senior year affect admissions?

Hey CC,

My (public) high school offers a program called "College Institute", which allows me to take any class at a community college during my 3rd and 4th periods. I'm curious to know whether colleges will see this is a negative or a positive on my transcript?

Specifically, I'm looking at Lafayette, William & Mary, Dickinson, and Franklin and Marshall (all out of state)

I have a 3.4 UW GPA (4.0 for both semesters of junior year, while taking 6 AP classes) and have a super score of 2100 on my SATs.

They will see it as a positive (you are academically curious, you like to challenge yourself) but it’ll really help if you can get grades in the B+ to A range.

thank you so much!

It does depend on which courses you select. Courses more advanced than college frosh or AP level will likely be most impressive.
