How does this look to colleges?

Hi.

I'm currently a sophomore, and I'm enrolled in Chem I and Physics I. However, I've already done SAT II Chem prep, which is more advanced than Chem I, and the Physics teachers sucks. I plan to just self study Physics. The math/science school I'm going to in my junior year will allow me to test into AP Chem and AP Physics C without a year of chem and physics. I will replace chem and physics with AP Euro and Speech/Debate class, respectively. My question is, does this look bad?

No, as long as you get the credits somehow you should be fine. A lot of colleges only require 2-3 science classes with lab components anyway.

So it won’t look bad to the top colleges or anything?

yes…bad.

How so?

Please elaborate. I need to have a decision by tomorrow.

I’d be surprised if colleges noticed it in the first place. Even then, there’s almost no chance that it’ll hurt your application.

Ah, I see.

My plan of progression for science is

Biology I, Bio II (both already taken), AP Chem, AP Physics, Organic Chem, and Intro to Biochem (highest level of science I can get)

I’m also going to self study AP Bio this year

I was just wondering whether not having Chem and Physics I would hurt it.
