actually you people WANT admissions at these schools to be COMPLETELY random. If HPYSMColBrUPCalt all did what they are criticized of doing, random selection, then the idea of, “Hey, I’m going to apply to fifteen schools with a acceptance rate of 10%-15% and I’m statistically guaranteed to get a couple acceptances!” would work perfectly. I wish top admissions were selected randomly with no order, then it would be like rolling the dice - if I try all the top unis, I’ll get one. So unless you are a seriously amazing applicant, which like 10 people maybe on this board are, you’re chances are better if they just did acceptance by adding up the numerical value of the letters in your name, diving that by 3, and if the remainder is zero, you make the first cut, 1 equals deferred, 2 rejected. Then those who got a zero are accepted on the basis of whether or not they were born on a odd day or even day. And each university had a slightly different, but equally SNAFU way of doing it.

Wait, You gotta be kidding. This is not how it works, is it?? I am sure that they just do not choose applicants randomly and also yes, they do sometimes reject the 2400 pile but at the same time they also accept someone from the 1800 pile if he/she is a national athlete, or have some kind of hook. That said, Yale admits people based on everything. Most of all, they would want to see what you can offer their school/university.

^ Nope. Every word of it is true. Don’t let the “adcoms” that take your calls as our customer support tell you lies. They don’t know what really goes on behind our stone halls.
