Hi guys,
Current high school student, applying to college this fall here. So I really want to do a double major in Aerospace Engineering and computer science (or at least am considering it) ,therefore I was wondering how exactly is that going to impact my college application. Would it be better to apply for a single major, and then request for a double major later (or maybe that is the process)? If so, which major would be more beneficial to apply for directly?
I’m planning on applying to mostly the University of California’s(Berkeley, LA, San Diego, Irvine, Davis, Santa Barbara) if that helps.I can provide other information if it would help.
Any thoughts that may not be specifically answering the question but relate to a double major in Aerospace engineering and computer science would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
This is a great question students go about this 2 ways depending on the school, colleges schools, arts, science, business are all different difficulty interms of admissions, some only apply to one major usually the easy college to better their chances then double, you can always double once your in, many times once your accepted you can tell ur advisor you wish to double, but you dont have to declare until your sophomore year, p.s ask your admissions councilar to see what they say, but dknt ask which school is easiet to get into they’ll know exactly why ur asking.
You mean the admissions counsellor at my high school? Honestly, the counselors at my high school are pretty useless lol.
Also, is there any way to check how many more classes I would need to take to double major for those two rather than a single major? Tried looking it up, but no success
Admissions at the college
One example is BC, their business school is extremely difficult to get into compared their arts and science, some students apply to the one they will have a higher chance getting into, then double major, double majoring is actually super simple, a major may consist of like 6 classes specifically to their major, 6 classes that are mandatory for the school, and then you have electives, instead of picking an elective of lets say jaxz, you would just pick the other 6 classes for youe other major, and if you get those requirements you graduate with a double, some can be in the same school, finance and management, or they can be in different schools, management and politcal science. I simplified the whole 6 classes things but hope you go the idea.
