How effective and accurate was Khan Academy and/or Barron's SAT books during your SAT preparation?

Hi there, I am taking the SAT for my first time in a little over a week and I have been studying using Khan Academy and also a little bit from Barron’s SAT Prep book. I have already increased my score 200+ points from the October PSAT, but I’m curious as to how accurate my Khan Academy/Barron test score results will be to the actual SAT. I appreciate anyone responses for people that have used these options before. Thank you for reading!

I think Barron’s English and reading are harder than the actual test. I suggest you try the online free tests (7 from college board). I think if you aced khanacdemy is a really good source if you get full levels in all the sections. I personally recommend Princeton Review (for reading and English) and McGraw (for math). I am not sure for Barron’s math yet.

@lovelyroses7 Thank you for the feedback!

Throughout my practices, I usually got lower scores on my Barron’s Tests. However, I continued to practice it with it because practicing with harder material usually helps me higher my scores.

And so that was what happened. Barron’s English is definitely harder, and in the math section, the questions could be harder and longer as well. If you get used to the harder style of questions, then CollegeBoard’s SAT would seem much easier.

Hope that helped!

@jinxorchestra After taking the test last week I do agree with you. Practicing from the book made the reading much easier both in terms of material and length, and the math seemed a bit easier on the exam as well.

Do not use synthetic (third-party) tests to diagnose your score. They can’t do that with anything resembling reliability. They’re for practice, at most.
