How employable is a Math/CS double major?

I am sure this thread has been done before, but I couldn't find anything with a cursory forum search. A link to a relevant thread or some insight would be appreciated.

Is math/CS a good combination? Are good jobs available? Will those jobs pay well?

It should pay about the same as a CS major. You may find some jobs that want more math than a CS major has that you will be a desirable candidate for. It is possible that those may pay a bit better but you can estimate your general opportunities same as a CS major.

I’m currently a CS major, and if I could do it again I would have taken one math class each quarter along with 1 (or 2) CS classe. The math classes in the CS major here are taught poorly; it’s clear the CS professors don’t have such good math background.

Some CS classes will state this class is the equivalent of MATH XXX. That’s how it’s done at my daughter school. It’s ok to take Math to replace them. Just pick the better teacher if you have a choice. Some have PhDs in Math but must teach CS classes because that’s where the demands are.
