Do colleges that superscore, namely Princeton and MIT, see that you took multiple SATs or do they just get one number for each section. I ask this because I was wondering if I scored much higher on one section of the retake but marginally (10 points, for instance) lower on the other two sections, if it’s better to just send the second score. Is the advantage of sending just one impressive score more significant? I realize I am being a little pedantic this but it’s just something I’ve been wondering about.
They see that you took multiple SATs unless your superscore happened in one sitting. In other words, they’ll see the dates on which your best sections (or whichever dates you choose to submit to them) were taken.
Ah, I see. I appreciate the reply.
I have these 4 free standard SAT score reports that I have to use by the end of today. I think I did very well on the June SAT and definitely scored higher on CR but it’s possible I didn’t do as well on writing because I nearly got a perfect score on writing last time around. Do you think I should send the colleges on my list that permit score choice the June one only or should I just send both right now?
I’m afraid that’s your call–people have different levels of risk-aversion.
@marvin100 Understandable. One last thing - It couldn’t possibly look bad if I sent the second score after the first score, right?
It doesn’t look bad if you sent the second score after the first score.
I personally wouldn’t use the free sends because I had no idea what my scores would be. Just because I thought a certain way didn’t mean that was how the score report played out. I didn’t feel comfortable sending any college my score until I saw it myself. It’s your choice if you want to do the same.
@TheDidactic Thank you. I decided to send all my scores to schools that require all SATs (i.e. schools that don’t permit Score Choice) so that I’d have nothing to lose.
OP, Can I ask you how many time you took the SAT?
What is your breakdown SAT?
