Report both scores for colleges that superscore?

My daughter took the SAT in her sophomore year with a 2050, but retook it this year (junior) and got a 2230. If a college superscores, or allows score choice, sending both scores says that she didn’t retake it a million times, just 2. However, even if a college states that they superscore, I worry that they will look at the low score and attribute the increase to tutoring or such & it will just look bad. On the other hand, it may look good that she has such an ability to improve quickly.

This is probably a very minor point, but you can understand a parent wanting his kid to have the best chance she can.

What should she do & how do you think admissions will look at it? Send both scores or use score choice?

Send both if her reading/math is higher on one or the other. Disregard writing. Schools are no longer looking at the writing sections, or at least that seems to be the general consensus.

She improved on all the sections.

^ Then I would send the second and better score, unless she is applying to schools that require all schools to be sent. I don’ see any advantage to superscoring.

^scores to be sent, not schools to be sent!

Agreed. If the second test is higher in each area there is no reason to try to superscore. Just send the second test (and no reason to retake).

Is this the consensus then or does anyone have other opinions?

why are you looking for other opinions? Can you explain the benefit of sending the first set of scores?
BTW, can you post the subscores?

You have no reason to send both except to colleges that require all SAT scores. Even then there is not a concern because colleges in general use the higher scores to detemine admisison and do not hold the lower scores against the applicant.

Just send the higher score — there is no reason to send the lower score.
