competition is super fierce in my school lol. Our current valed took/taking 17 APs and like nine people behind him each took/taking around 14-16. They are all getting/got straight A's and the gpa difference b/w valed and number 10 is only like 0.03 gpa points. And our school also has grade deflation too. Only like 3 people out of a class of 30 gets A's. Kids in my school don't tell each other hw assignments b/c they don't want their friends getting a better grade then them. I think there is too much competition in my school. :(

everyone at my school has given up on being Valedictorian because they know I'm basically unbeatable at this point (not trying to be arrogant, but this is true). There are 3 other girls that are battling it out for 2nd though....and i'm very interested in seeing who will come out on top.

our top 3 are neck and neck
The current Val has never gotten anything other than an A+ (1 completed AP so far, 5 this year, all others honors---currently maintaining A+s)
The current Sal has also never gotten anything other than an A+ (3 completed APs so far, 4 this year, all other honors--currently maintining A+s), except she takes Art, which isn't wieghted...
The 3rd--I think the only diff is a couple of As or something.

I think I'm currently 20ish/320. Hopefully that will go up this year though.

our val is taking the first AP class of her life this year(senior year)...and she won't stop **ing about it....so everyone is kinda *ed about it because we took hard classes throughout high school and challenged ourselves while she took the bare minimum and is "stressed out"....but whatever...i chose to learn in high school rather than the 3 secs of glory...im good with that...

oh gosh....ive been starred out..i feel like such a bad kid

It's not competitive at all really. Only me and this Chinese kid are fighting to be valedictorian and I'm .2 ahead of him.

I'm gonna win val but my school isn't very competitive at all.

No one really cares at my school. I'm probably going to get it, but only because the #1 guy has a B. His overall GPA is like .3 higher than mine.

approx 300 people in the class.

2 guys duking it out right now...I have an outside shot of being val (it's mathematically possible bc of how gpas are weighted but probably won't happen) but I don't really care.

I'm the valedictorian as of junior year, but the first half of senior year still counts. Me and #2 are literally .003 away so it's pretty competitive. Though I'm taking harder classes this year, so I'm at a disadvantage. I'd rather learn more in my classes than get #1 though. If I get #2, I'll still get to make a speech at graduation and thats all I really want.

Actually in my shcool a valedictorian is anyone who has a 4.0 + weighted, so every year we have about 70-80 valedictorians. Of course the #1 ranked person does get attention, but gets no special ribbon etc. They are changing this rule to only one valedictorian for class of 2010. I am class of 2009. Garunteed "valedictorian" for me.

My school's different than most...Instead of getting an actual class rank, we're put into deciles, so nobody is ever #1.
