Experiences/Stories are appreciated
I don’t hear Colorado School of Mines mentioned much as a CS school. It is pretty specialized… I’d stick with Boulder given the choice.
My husband has a software development consulting firm and has hired two Mines grads in the last year and is hopeful to hire 2 more this Spring. He’s been very impressed (much more so than the CU Boulder candidates (he hasn’t hired any from there)
For undergrad, I don’t see much that distinguishes one program over the other. Either should be fine. If you feel more comfortable at one of the schools, go there.
@intparent @oldcmcalum @simba9 Ok, with my weighted 3.5 GPA, (I’m from California) do I have a chance?
Can you afford OOS tuition at Boulder? You have a pretty great state system in CA, not sure why you would want to look elsewhere and spend more…
@intparent Yes, we can afford tuition. Money isn’t a problem here. All I’m asking if I can get in.
Average Unweighted GPA for Colorado School of Mines was 3.8.
