How great is Cornell's Chem Engineering and social lives??

Ranks aside, I want to know about how Cornell ChemE students feel about their university. Is the life balanced? Is ChemE at cornell as good as Texas Austin (despite having lower rank)? How great are the friends/professors there? Any pride of being one of the Ivy League? Thanks =D

ChemEs like to complain a lot about how their workload sucks, and how everything they do is the hardest. Its not really true. ChemE is a difficult path, but is by no means unmanageable. Anywhere you go, you are going to have more work than your non engineering peers. I am a chemical engineer, and I currently have an awesomely balanced life. I am pledging a fraternity, involved in many ECs, and I still have a good social life.

About the UT Austin…

Honestly its ranked like, 3 notches higher right. Well I mean, if you go cornell then, you will never find a job, or at least you will find them and apply for them, but they will all be taken by UT austin grads by the time you get your interview. and your peers at cornell are going to think you are a ■■■■■■ for going to cornell when you could have gone to UT austin which is such a better school, and eventually you wont have any friends because they will all think you are just one huge ■■■■■■. Your parents will hate you because they know that UT austin is really the better school and you went to the **** hole they call cornell. And eventually when you go to bars and brag to women about what college you went to, you are going to be outdone by a UT austin ChemE, And when you get married, your wife will cheat on you with a UT Austin chemE because they do it better and then and only then will you realize that your ultimate failure was that you went to a lower ranked school than UT austin.

^Dude…

Ah, to be young again. Well, sorry to inform you, but when the curriculum actually gets to the hard stuff, you will screaming in Olin just the rest of the kids in my year.

Muhahahahahaha.

That’s just because ChemEs take secret bragadocious pride in how much they complain about their work.

Several other engineering majors have the same amount of difficulty/work and complain significantly less.
