How hard is admissions for out of state students? (Comp sci)

Currently a junior compiling a list of colleges - I’m definitely interested in UT Austin (good CS program) but I’m not sure where I would stand as far as actually being able to get in. I have a couple of friends who go there but they were all in-state residents and I’m not very familiar with OOS admissions. The main things are that I’m Asian (rip), I’m out of state (NY), and I want to major in CS which is always more competitive.

My GPA is 4.4W and ACT score 35
Weak EC’s

Considering all the factors above, do you think UT Austin would be considered a reach, a target, or like a target/reach?
Also how good are the job opportunities for CS compared to say - U Mich, UIUC, georgia tech, and other schools with noteworthy CS programs?

UT CS is a reach for top instate students, even the top 7% since your major is not guaranteed. There are some threads on here regarding CS admissions for this year. It gets harder every year. In general, you need strong ECs on top of excellent stats, that support your interest in CS. My experience regarding jobs is based on DD’s and DS’s friends majoring in CS at UT. They have all landed fantastic internships in Silicon Valley with the big tech companies.
