How hard is it for an American to get into a British school?

I am thinking about applying to a Masters program in Development Studies at Cambridge University in the UK. The program does not require a GRE score but does seem to require a good GPA. What is the average GPA and EC's that a student in America should have before applying to a school like Cambridge? I attend a top 10 American University and will have no problems aquiring decent recommendation from professors.

What should I do to be a winning candidate?

I suggest you ask this question on this website called 'The student room' - its sort of a CC for UK unis.

Will do. Thanks.

Cambridge usually requires a GPA around 3.7 or more for Americans. EC's aren't that important though for development studies work experience could probably very valuable as well as maybe knowledge of an additional language.
