I’m considering moving from Biomedical Engineering to Computer Science. How hard would that switch be?
Are you a new student for Fall 2017 who has been accepted into college of engineering? If so, changing from PRE-BME to PRE-CSE is trivial. Contact either the college of engineering advising office or CSE advising office. You don’t even need to do the change – you can just take classes required to be a CSE major and shoot for a 3.2 GPA that is required to be accepted into the CSE major. Having said this, it may be better to actually change and stay in touch with CSE advising office.
None of the engineering majors accept you directly. You can easily go from being PRE-X to PRE-Y and follow the requirements for admission into Y major.
@osuprof Yeah, I was referring to Pre-BME to Pre-CSE.
I did this as an incoming freshman; I went from Pre-BME to Pre-ChemE. You just have to call admissions and they’ll switch your major. Just make sure you do it before orientation!
You can also do it at orientation very easily
