How hard is it to get in OOS?

Yeah, how am I lookin'? I applied EA and hear OOS acceptance rates are usually in the like 15-19%.

ACT- C-32
E-32
M-36
R-33
S-27 (Ughh...)

SAT I- 660 Reading 750 Math 710 Writing (2120 Overall)

I have a 3.98 or 3.99 (UW) and took 4 AP classes my junior year and have 3 this year, and have taken honors classes for every other class.
Class Treasurer Junior and Senior Year
President and Founder of Young Democrats (Junior and Senior Year)
Freshman/JV Baseball (2 years), Freshman Cross-Country, Freshman/JV Basketball (2 years)
Varsity Soccer Senior Year
Small stuff like debate and NHS and whatnot.

And I coached 6th grade basketball and we got 2nd out of 26 teams in the City tournament (Junior Year) and am currently coaching 5th grade team.

And I wrote good essays/got good recommendations I believe.

I think I've got at least a shot, right?

Also, what I'm really worried about is if I don't get into Carolina do I stand a chance at Brown, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, or Stanford? <---Also applied to these.

When it comes to the OOS student, UNC is competitive as Vanderbilt and Northwestern

You and I have similar stats and I got into both UNC OOS and Vanderbilt. I didn't apply to the other 3 but I think you can get into Northwestern, have a shot at Brown and honestly, Stanford seems to be a bit out of reach. Nothing against you, but the only people I know that got in there did something ridiculous.

Yeah, I'm not expecting anything from Stanford. I wrote great essays, but I understand that Stanford is well, Stanford, and they reject kids with 2400 like it's their job.

But if I didn't get in here, you think it'd even be possible to get into those other schools. I mean it'd seem pretty improbable.

are you male or female? belive it or not, it makes a difference

Male. (I know carolina is like 60% female)

you should have a decent chance but who knows. i hate to sound like a broken record but you never know with UNC

slight reach to match at unc, vandy, nw

reach at brown

major reach at stan

slight reach to match at unc, vandy, nw

reach at brown

major reach at stanford

Gender does not matter for UNC since their admissions are gender blind. You don't think they made the 60/40 ratio on purpose do ya? ;)

I think you'll be ok to get into one of those schools, but I hope you have some backups just in case.

My school (in Texas) has sent quite a few people to UNC over the past few years. We have a program called Naviance that basically shows you your chances at getting into any college.

Anyway, for UNC the average SAT score accepted was 2121 and average ACT score accepted was 31.

So you probably have a pretty good chance.

What I'd give to have your ACT math score...I'd say it depends on your essays.

woah, weird... we applied to like the same schools. I applied to Vandy, UNC-CH, Stanford, and Northwestern too! Our profiles are even similar, except I have better test scores and you have better extracurriculars (way better... sweatdrop). And I'm a chick.

This should be interesting. I'm expecting rejections from Stanford and NW, and I think I have a 50/50 shot at the other two.

Luck to you!

I think you'll gain admission. Let us know!

I got in RD, OOS, last year with your same test scores (Only ACT) and GPA.

What if I have same stats/scores but am legacy?
