I will be applying to UIUC next year for the computer science major. However, its college of engineering seems too expensive for me and in order to study there I will badly need some financial need (approximately 50 % of tuition fees will do). I was looking at the list of scholarships and felt that the University Achievement Scholarship would be perfect for me as its quite substantial in amount. The website says it needs "outstanding academic achievements". Could you guys please clarify this for me? How difficult is it to get this scholarship and approximately how many students are awarded this every year? It would be particularly great if someone who has got this scholarship shares his/her stats.

I was offered this scholarship this year.
SAT 2240
ACT 35
GPA 4.0/4.45
However, I did not receive any other aid except huge loans, and so will not be attending UIUC. I am OOS - the IS Achievement award probably covers a greater %age of costs (mine was about 1/4 of the OOS price). Good luck!

36 act
