Pretty much i'm asking what GPA would you need to transfer into the Smith School of business?

Shoot for 3.5+

I would say 3.2 and above would be good but 3.5 and higher would be excellent. A letter of recommendation from a professor in the business school wouldn’t hurt either. Make sure its what you want because once your in if you change majors you cant go back.

Know of a guy with a 3.3x and a great recommendation from a business school professor who didn’t get in this year.

That doesnt mean you cant get in with a 3.3 or higher. I got in with a similar gpa. It all depends on your individual application and how you differentiate yourself from others. I also got into two fellows programs.

Nothing is guaranteed. Just pointing out that I wouldn’t feel overly confident with a 3.3, but it is definitely possible.

The average GPA varies between 3.4-3.6 depending on the application period.

Do you all know anyone that has gotten rejected with a 3.8 GPA? And is it harder to get into Smith as a spring external transfer? I feel like it might be easier to get accepted in the fall after a wave of students graduate in May and that they give priority to internal transfers.
