How hard is it to work while going to a UC?

Grimes, wow. I hope I can delegate my time as well as you seem to.

uctransfer2012: 7k net cost, wow. That is for dorming up. BTW: what is your EFC?

@uctransfer2012: Blue and Gold covers tuition, which is somewhere around $13k a year. Room and board is partially covered by grants, but chances are you’ll have to pay for part of it.

Also, Blue and Gold is not the name of a grant. It’s the name of the “promise” (to make sure your tuition is covered by grants if you meet the criteria). So nobody sees “Blue and Gold” in their award letter. It just says University Grant if there was anything left to cover after federal and state aid.

Reading over this makes me feel like I’m going to totally be ****ed over by loans. I’ll probably get nothing and be in a 50-60K(?) debt by the time I’m done with my BA… Then law school expenses…

I got Blue and Gold and live at The Village (which is stupid expensive) and I’ll get through with only a $5,000 subsidized loan. Wouldn’t worry too much about it. And that’s with zero family support at all.
