How hard is math 16A if i have not taken calc in high school

Thanks guys... I have decided to take Math 16A and then Stats 2 or 20 for the one-year math requirement for med schools. BTW, Scapermoya i saw that you are appealing your decision...good luck!!

thanks ab, good luck with math

ef all of you

ab_med, y r u taking stats second semester? Y not Math 16B?

because i only need one-year of math for med schools and most med schools allow you to subsitute 2nd semester calc for a stats class and i heard that stats is way easier than calc at Cal

im a pre-med also. But i also heard med schools like it better if we just finish the calculus track...

i dont think so, in fact some schools like UCLA require you to take stats in college

ilovecalifornia: Yes.

math 1a = limits, differentiation, basic integration (more or less)
math 1b = more integration, series, diffeq (more or less)

thanks mrniphty

my major (integrated biology) only requires math 16A. can i get out of it using calculus AB and not take any math at all? that would be awesome.

yeah i got a 5 on AP calculus BC test so i can technically get out of the math requiements. But i think i have to take college calculus anyway for med school, so im most likeley gonna take math 1a/1b
