Next year, as a Senior, my schedule will be the following:

AP English Lang
AP Chem
AP Bio
AP Psych (a lot of work at my school)
AP Gov
Conceptual Calc (a step below AP)
2, 45 minute studyhalls every 7 day cycle

AP classes at my school are weighted 1.2, so they're pretty difficult. My current schedule, as a Junior, is...

Hnrs Physics
AP Stats
AP Eng Lit
Anatomy/Physiology
Hnrs US Hist.
Precalc (my worst grade: 84%)
Gym, as well as the same amount/type of studyhalls as above

I have a 3.6 unweighted GPA...because of precalc :(
My current course load is pretty light; I have a lot of free time for extra curriculars, jobs, etc.

How difficult is my senior schedule; can I maintain my current gpa? AP lang and gov are push over APs at my school, but psych, bio, and chem require nightly homework assignments that can sometimes take over an our each. My other schedule option is to swap AP Psych (1 credit) with Personal Finance (half the year: 45 mins/day) and a studyhall (other half, :45 mins). Please Help!

I’ve heard the AP psych is a joke to colleges honestly, even with your school’s work load. Your schedule looks pretty rigorous which is good in that it shows the schools you are challenging yourself. Also take into consideration: Will your college accept those AP credits? and How much money am I willing to pay on AP exams? I took that into consideration my senior year and so I dropped AP physics and just went with Adv. Make sure you look into colleges and their take on different AP courses. (And having an extra study hall never hurts!!)

I was going to take ap physics C instead of chem, but for the majors I’m looking at (bio, med, chem, etc) Physics wasn’t on the list. Also I’m not planing on taking the ap eng lang test, since the colleges i’m looking at have the same class credits for ap lit and lang. Even with a 3.6 unweighted, my class rank is a 71/450.

Well see then I think you should go with Chem if the college accepts it (and if you’re confident you can make a high-enough score). And I hope you realize 71/450 is not bad! that just under top 16 percent. Colleges often look at your rank but they also see your courses and how hard you pushed yourself and what you accomplished so if that was worrying you you’re fine. Good Luck!

Here’s what it is @hurdle1996

AP English Lang
AP Physics C (not as hard as I thought)
AP Bio
AP Gov
Conceptual Calc (worst class, B-/B)
Focus On Foods (sem1), Criminal Justice (sem 2)
Labs (4 of 6 day cycles), Study Halls (2 of 6 day cycles)

My class rank is now from 40-60 out of 450, how is this? Alot has changed, now I’m on the free lunch program (use to be upper-middle class brat).
