Hi, ill be an incoming freshman this fall and I'm worried about my schedule bc I've heard some discouraging things about the classes I'm taking. Here's my schedule:

Chem 6ah
Math 20b
Muir 40 writing
Music 4

Do you think ill be able to manage? What would be my most time consuming course? Thank you!

Compared to my course load, this looks like high school work. I wish my work load was this easy. The most demanding class depends on whether you’re better at math or chemistry. I would say chemistry would be more demanding.

it looks okay to me.

ah ok thats good to hear, i was just worried about starting college and hating it bc it was too hard or something. Thank you :)

Unless you have a great foundation in chemistry, chem 6ah will be hard.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/1319762-chem-6a-honors.html

it’s not worth it unless you took ap chem in hs and pass with 4 or 5. Other than that, you will have a hard time, but you get a smaller class size, generous curve, and feeling of intelligence. I heard the curve for an a was 35% and class average was 26% in chem 6ah. It’s difficult, but not impossible.

Chem will probably be pretty hard unless you’re naturally talented at it. Music should be easy with practically little to no homework. I heard Muir has the easiest writing course out of all the colleges, so that shouldn’t be hard. Math 20B shouldn’t be too bad, but I heard it was the hardest of the 20A-B-C series. It won’t be as hard as the 20D-E-F courses though.

It’s a pretty average quarter. Math 20B was a breeze since we had covered 50% of the material in my calc AB class (I got a 5). Don’t fall behind in your writing class. I wouldn’t do 6AH, but you can read makman09’s link for the reasons why. (In short: many people do it for the wrong reasons and end up switching out)
