How important is it for a university offering a Bachelor’s of Computer Science to be approved by the CAC (Computing Accreditation Commission)?

Not important per se (e.g. CMU, Stanford do not have ABET CAC accreditation for CS) unless you want to do the patent exam, but small lesser known programs without ABET CAC accreditation for CS may need to be looked at more closely to check for good CS topic coverage and that they are appropriately technical (rather than really being business IT programs with a few programming courses).
